Brrrr.....

Snow fell all Saturday morning and after it stopped the temperatures dropped dramatically. We awoke to 17 on Sunday morning but it was a nice, balmy 27 today. I haven't seen a bee for more than a week now, but when I rap on the side of the hives I can hear a gentle hum from inside both. More rain is forecast for the week but with the rain comes warmer temperatures and maybe some breaks when the bees can get out for a while. If they want to do some ice skating, the fountain will be the perfect spot!

Corr Lynn - it is 24 celsius here today, not sure what that is in your temps, but lovely and warm, not hot, just nice for me - I love early summer before it gets to hot and everything goes to pot and wilts.
I cleaned out the TB tonight after work, will post tomorrow ..

Is it safe to leave the fountain out all winter? I left mine out for years but then one particuarly cold winter it got a crack in it.
We're anticipating our first snow storm tonight. Let's hope it all blows over :)

Hey Lynn! We got our first taste of winter weather here in the Triad on Friday night and it should end on Saturday. Its anywhere from 8-10 inches of snow here and now it is sleeting. I know you all were supposed to get more than us. Hopefully you all are snuggly warm there and you're bees are well!
